About
The design of Wilfrid Laurier University’s new research building was inspired by the researchers themselves. The university recognized the need for a space that would facilitate collaboration and provide a modern environment for cutting-edge research. The result was a building that not only met these needs but also provided a welcoming and comfortable space for researchers and students alike. The lobby, designed to serve as a lounge and interaction space, is a prime example of this approach. It offers an environment that encourages collaboration and interaction, as well as a place to relax and recharge between experiments.
In addition, the building was designed with a focus on sustainability, reflecting the researchers’ commitment to the environment they study. It is outfitted with the latest energy-efficient systems and sustainable materials, reducing its environmental footprint while providing a healthy and comfortable work environment. The two-story entry space, clad in glass, allows natural light to fill the building, creating a bright and open atmosphere that fosters creativity and collaboration.
By providing a comfortable, collaborative, and sustainable environment, the building not only supports their work but also inspires them to push the boundaries of what is possible in their field.
