About

The Women’s Hospital is a revolutionary healthcare facility that aims to enhance the patient experience, improve clinical outcomes, and foster stronger connections with the surrounding community. The hospital’s goal is to provide a warm, welcoming environment where patients can feel comfortable, safe, and empowered to take charge of their health.

Healthcare can be a daunting experience, which is why we designed this facility to prioritize the human experience. The interface with the community ensures that the Health Sciences Centre is not just a building, but a vital part of the surrounding neighborhood. The facility respects the human scale of the area and ensures access to natural light, creating a friendly atmosphere that blends seamlessly with neighboring buildings.

Clinical programs here are a consolidation of women and children’s health services from multiple locations into one comprehensive facility. Bringing these services under one roof enables improvements in the quality of care for newborns and provides a more streamlined experience for patients. The Women’s Triage Facility, large specialty ultrasound suite, flexible obstetrics and gynecology ambulatory care clinics, gynecology perioperative center, and inpatient unit provide a full range of services for women, both before and after childbirth.
