We’re excited to announce that Parkin Architects (Parkin) is guest lecturing at The Metropolitan University on Monday, March 31, 2025, delivering a session on Accessibility and Inclusive Design: Crafting Environments to Support Diverse Needs.
Anika Abdullah, Accessibility Advisor; Rachael Newbury, Associate, Planner; and Rebecca MacDonald, Principal, Healthcare Planning Lead, will share their expertise and insights on creating environments that are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to diverse populations.

During the lecture, TMU students will explore:
- Universal Design Principles and their application across healthcare and children’s environments.
- The impact of Canadian accessibility legislation on building design.
- The role of design guidelines in shaping inclusive spaces.
- Case studies highlighting real-world examples of accessibility in action.
We are proud to contribute to shaping the next generation of designers committed to equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
