Georgian Bay General Hospital’s satellite dialysis unit officially opened on February 14, 2022.
The 7,599 sq.ft. new building contains nine dialysis bays including one segregated room with a washroom. All bays area observable by staff from two care desks. The design has made provision for future expansion, with the capability to add three more stations with roughed in services in two consult rooms and one exam room.
The space configuration has a front-of-house for staff and patients and a back-of-house area for staff with service space for a reverse osmosis water system, heating, ventilation and air conditioning room, tech room area with additional three stations with service dialysis equipment.
A new roof top air handling unit serves the space, along with a backup power generator.
