The new Providence Care Hospital currently in early construction phases is being designed to meet the goal of LEED certification.

The vision behind the care environment is about inspiring and instilling hope, as well as enhancing treatment, rehabilitation and recovery. Providence Care is about enabling maximum independence and supporting individuals on their journeys to recovery as they transition from hospital back to the community.

The new hospital will be a community asset, where residents of southeastern Ontario can count on high quality care and services. In addition to being environmentally responsible, key design principles of the new building include:

Integration of Education and Research

A place where students, staff and volunteers will have opportunities to pursue education and research, with centralized dedicated facilities that will support changing research projects.

Long-Term Flexibility

The new building will be tailored to support current and future needs with minimum disruption and cost.

Normalization

The new building’s use of natural light, together with access to outdoor courtyards, rooftop terraces and activity areas will allow patients to easily connect with nature and the outdoors.

Enhanced Workplace Wellness

Providence Care will offer a supportive work environment for employees, with space suitable for staff activities, such as exercise classes and organizational celebrations.
