Progress Update: Cowichan District Hospital Construction

Exciting developments are underway at the future Cowichan District Hospital on Bell McKinnon Road in North Cowichan, thanks to the latest footage from our Project drone photographer from EllisDon.  Let’s take a closer look at the progress to date:

Quonset Building: A temporary structure serving as a full-scale testing ground for program User Groups.

Steel Framed Service Centre: This essential component of the project is taking shape, promising efficient mechanical and electrical service delivery upon completion.

Future 4-Storey Diagnostic & Treatment Centre (D&T): Outpatient services will find their home here, showcasing the hospital’s commitment to top quality health care.

Inpatient Unit (IPU) Tower Foundations: Vertical rows of columns mark the groundwork for the upcoming 7-storey tower. Noteworthy is the design, with each floor featuring a sunroom offering views of Swuq’us (Mount Prevost) to the west or Somenos Lake and Mount Tzouhalem to the south.
