Parkin’s award winning work in the far north has inspired staff to learn and participate in Inuit traditions. On February 9, 2019 our staff will be participating in Inuit Day at the Ottawa Inuit Children’s Centre (OICC). OICC serves Inuit children, youth and their families in the southern urban setting of the City of Ottawa by providing a learning environment, enhancing their overall wellbeing and adaptability in an inspiring Inuit cultural environment.
Inuit Day at the centre welcomes everyone in the community and its surroundings to experience Inuit traditions including food, throat singing, bannock making, games and traditional clothing.
