On April 11, 2018, Parkin featured its VR work on InsiteVR’s Immersive Project Showcase. The event invited participants across North America with VR headsets to view the Electrophysiology Room designed for St. Mary’s General Hospital (SMGH) in a live presentation. From our host location provided in the Hospital by SMGH, Parkin and SMGH staff described the room design, function and value of VR in developing the design and addressing operational needs within the space, including sightlines, adjacencies, and workflow. The showcase session included assigning roles to participants, and giving directions to them to stage a procedure in the room, thereby providing a (virtually) hands-on experience of how this amazing space functions, and how the healthcare team uses the space.
