A meaningful new chapter is taking shape at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, and Parkin Architects is pleased to be part of its continued evolution. More than a decade after helping design the original hospital with Adamson Associates, Parkin is once again contributing to this landmark healthcare facility through an important new renovation project.
Parkin is working with Halton Healthcare and EllisDon on a major fit-out of previously shelled space at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH). The renovation will bring 111 new inpatient beds and 79,000 square feet of additional hospital space to the facility, supporting expanded care for patients and families across the region.
The project forms part of a broader Halton Healthcare initiative adding 123 acute care beds across OTMH and Milton District Hospital—an investment in the future of healthcare for one of Ontario’s growing communities.
For Parkin, the project is especially meaningful. The new OTMH spaces are being developed within areas that were intentionally left unfinished when the hospital was originally designed and built, allowing the facility to expand within its existing footprint as community needs changed. Parkin, which designed the original OTMH in joint venture with Adamson Associates Architects, is delighted to return and help bring these planned future-care spaces to life.
