According to the Mental Health Commission of Canada, about one in five Canadians experiences mental health issues at some point during their working years. It is estimated that mental illness costs the Canadian economy more than $50 billion per year in terms of healthcare service use, lost workdays and work disruptions. A healthy Canadian economy—and a healthy workplace—rely on healthy minds.
In recognition of the increasing awareness of how mental health affects all of us, Parkin is hosting a mental health training program for employees and clients.
Parkin routinely hosts experts who provide a wide variety of educational upgrading and training to our staff, including CPR Training, Fall Arrest Prevention and Infection Prevention and Control during Construction. We are engaging in a program in Mental Health First Aid sponsored by the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Personnel from all three of our offices will be participating.
