During the forum, Cameron Shantz will share insights and expertise in a session titled “Twelve Months Later: Progress Report on the Cowichan Hospital Project and Key Takeaways from the Competitive Alliance Model.”





This informative session evaluates the progress of the Cowichan District Hospital Replacement project one year after its inception. Attendees will gain a comprehensive overview of key timelines, project components, and the unique competitive alliance model employed in the province. The session also provides valuable insights from the perspectives of the owner, builder, and designer, highlighting the benefits, risks, and lessons learned from this innovative procurement model.

Joining Cameron on the presenting panel are esteemed industry professionals, including Westley Davidson, Chief Project Officer of the Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project; Alice Gelpke, Executive Director of Cowichan Valley and Hospital Redevelopment at Island Health; and Sean Quimby, Senior Manager at EllisDon.
