Parkin is pleased to share the publication of Designing Human-Centered Journeys: Design Strategies for Enhancing Wayfinding in Complex Healthcare Environments in the HERD: Health Environments Research & Design Journal.
The paper explores design strategies that support intuitive navigation in complex healthcare settings, helping to improve the experience of patients, visitors, and staff. Drawing on insights from industry practitioners, the research highlights key wayfinding strategies and underscores the importance of integrating these considerations early in the design process.
Notably, 34 interview participants from four firms contributed to the study, including eight Parkin staff members. Their participation reflects Parkin’s ongoing commitment to advancing knowledge in healthcare design and contributing practical, experience-based insight to broader industry research.
