Parkin Celebrates Robin Snell as a 2024 CSA Award of Merit Recipient

Parkin is thrilled to share the remarkable news that our Director, Robin Snell, has been honored as a recipient of a prestigious 2024 CSA Award of Merit (in recognition of exemplary technical expertise, advocacy, and outstanding contributions to the development of standards for healthcare facility design)! Robin’s outstanding contributions will be recognized at the forthcoming 2024 CSA Group Annual Conference in June, held in Vancouver, where he will graciously accept this esteemed award.

Robin’s exemplary dedication and expertise are evident in his pivotal roles within various CSA Health Care Facility design standards committees. His leadership shines through in the following capacities:

  • Vice-Chair, Technical Committee on Health Care Facilities (HCF’s): Overseeing 13 crucial HCF design standards.
  • Chair, New Technical Subcommittee (TSC) on Post Occupancy Evaluation for HCF’s (CSA Z-8003 – under development): Spearheading innovative approaches to enhance post-occupancy assessments.
  • Chair, TSC on Wayfinding in HCF’s (CSA Z317.14-17 – a new standard published in 2017): Pioneering efforts to streamline navigation within healthcare facilities.
  • Vice-Chair, TSC on Area Measurement for HCF’s (CSA Z317.11-17, revised in 2017): Contributing to precise standards for area measurement.
  • Member, TSC on Design and Construction of HCF’s (CSA Z8000-11, to be revised in 2018): Offering invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of healthcare facility design.
  • Member, TSC on Infection Control During Construction, Renovation, & Maintenance of HCFs (CSA Z317.13-17, revised in 2017): Ensuring stringent protocols for infection control.
  • Member, TSC for Provincial/Territorial Forum on Health Care Facilities: Collaborating on a broader scale for the advancement of healthcare infrastructure.
