Parkin Architects Limited has been providing exceptional design services to clients for decades and we continually contribute and adapt to the changes occurring in the design and construction industry. Parkin has grown from a focus on Healthcare and Recreation in 1986 to now also providing award winning services in the Education, Laboratory, Justice, and Correctional sectors.
Parkin’s western Canada office in Vancouver has been extremely successful since its opening in 2012. In fact, the staff contingent has grown by a third in the last year alone! Parkin Director Cameron Shantz is moving to Vancouver to reinforce the talented local staff and to help respond to the demand for Parkin’s services.
Parkin’s Toronto and Ottawa offices have also added staff to keep up with the recent successes and have committed to teams for several future projects in the healthcare, laboratory, education, long-term care, and justice sectors. The future is looking very bright!
After 40 years with Parkin, Harland Lindsay has retired from the firm he founded and now provides consulting services to Parkin from time to time, continuing his support of the firm to which he has been committed for so many years. As the founder of Parkin Architects Limited, Harland has been central to the business management and operation of the firm, as well as a resource for many other aspects of the practice. Harland was responsible for the resurrection of the firm from the remnants of Parkin Partnership Architects Planners, and its subsequent growth from 7 people to its current size of well over 100.
John Christie “retired” last year but is back helping on a part-time basis assisting us with work at Georgian Bay Regional Hospital, Brampton Civic Hospital, and Joseph Brant Hospital. He is also committed to being involved with numerous pursuits across Canada – so his retirement was short-lived!
Directors Lind Nyman, David Driscoll, Cameron Shantz, Mark Michasiw, Robert Boraks and John MacSween and the dedicated Parkin staff continue to ensure that Parkin provides exceptional professional design services across Canada, and abroad.
