We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the design of a new emergency department at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) following a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
Robert Boraks, Parkin Director and manager of our Ottawa office, expressed company-wide excitement,“… to be working with the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital team and the local community to develop the new Emergency Department. We look forward to working together on this exciting project.”
The new emergency department will be the largest investment in Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital’s history. Its design will support patients and staff with a modern and flexible space to provide the community with emergency healthcare services where and when they need them. It will accommodate high volumes, improve both patient privacy and satisfaction, and increase infection control standards.
“We are looking forward to working with Parkin’s local architects in Ottawa to design a new Emergency Department for our surrounding communities.”
~ Mary Wilson Trider, President & CEO of CPDMH
Following approval of the Functional Plan, the project will move into the Preliminary Design stage when sketch and preliminary block designs will be prepared. Additionally, major components, timelines and cost details will be prepared for submission and approval.
Our approach factors in multiple stakeholders’ needs to develop a final product tailored to the client’s functional requirements and sustainability initiatives. We will listen to and support the community to deliver a project in alignment with their present and future needs.
“Parkin has an excellent reputation and extensive experience in the health care field.” ~ Mary Wilson Trider, President & CEO of CPDMH
