Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital’s New Emergency Department (ED) groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 28, 2022.
Parkin is proud to be part of this exciting project and to work with such a collaborative team. The new ED at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital will be built at the back of the existing hospital and connected at the first floor via a link that will include an elevator and stairs to navigate the change in elevation. It is designed to improve each patient’s experience with more treatment rooms, barrier-free, walk-in entrances, and enhanced infection control standards.
Parkin Associate/Architect/Project Manager, Cedric du Montier quotes, “Parkin Architects is proud to have been involved in this important community project from inception and I want to thank Kim Kennedy, Vice-President, Project Architect, who has led the way with her innovative design.” “Thank you to the hospital staff, project, and management team for their collaborative efforts, as well as the Town of Carleton Place for their continuous support. As construction begins, we are delighted to welcome Chandos Construction to the team and look forward to working collaboratively to deliver a successful project. Parkin is dedicated to creating environments that positively impact lives. We foster collaboration, partnerships, and the sharing of knowledge to build better communities.”
