Parkin recently conducted a one-year warranty inspection of the Kinngait Health Centre in Nunavut.
We were gratified by responses expressed by staff, patients, and community members, all of whom are enjoying their new space. Positive feedback was received from everyone during the walk-through inspection.
The facility’s sophisticated design meets design goals. Waiting rooms are bright and cheery, with wonderful views to the outdoors. Large windows are provided where possible, allowing natural light to penetrate interior spaces. Wall murals were selected from a local photographer to reflect the Kinngait environment and culture.
The exterior uses shapes and colours that reflect the rugged geology blending with the curvatures of the surrounding hills. Simple, angular, roof lines meet the curved central “Knuckle”, accentuating the colour at the window panels that closely corelates with the community building culture.
We enjoy creating environments that positively impact lives. We foster collaboration, partnerships, and the sharing of knowledge to build better communities.
