We are delighted to announce that the Western Memorial Regional Hospital (WMRH) has reached a substantial completion milestone.
Western Memorial Regional Hospital, a vital regional healthcare center, is set to become a civic landmark in Western Newfoundland, reflecting the spirit of the Corner Brook community—a connected, caring community surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
The new seven-story, 600,000 square-foot hospital will be seamlessly linked to the 145-bed long-term care facility constructed by Plenary Health on the same site. WMRH will house 164 beds, offering the same services currently available, alongside an expanded cancer care program, including radiation services.
The hospital’s design prioritizes efficient horizontal and vertical circulation systems, clinical adjacencies, flow segregation, integrated building systems, optimized sightlines, and intuitive wayfinding. This results in a compact, functional layout that minimizes travel distances for medical professionals and support staff, enabling more time to be dedicated to patient care.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire project team for their outstanding contributions, which have brought us one step closer to enhancing healthcare in the Corner Brook community.
