Construction bids for expansion of L’école des Trois-Soleils, the only French language school in Iqaluit, Nunavut closed in April 2021. The client is currently reviewing the bids and is looking forward to selecting a general contractor for the construction and delivery of the school.
Construction is scheduled to begin late in the summer of 2021 when the shipping season for material delivery starts in Arctic. The project includes expansion of the existing school to provide a full K-12 curriculum, including addition of a full-size gymnasium, two standard classrooms, and two specialty classrooms. Additional improvements to the school include provisions for daycare, dedicated science and trades classrooms, and flexible communal areas for school and community use.
