Parkin students led a fun design charrette inspired by FIFA 2026 and its lasting impact on Vancouver! As a host city, Vancouver came alive, with public spaces transformed into watch parties, gathering places, recreation areas, and food markets—all celebrating the excitement and community spirit of FIFA. Building on that energy, the design challenge asked students to imagine how Vancouver could create an even better visitor experience when it hosts again for FIFA 2030.
Participants were put into groups to design gathering, eating, viewing and celebratory spaces, for future hosting of not only FIFA, but other events too. Everyone went to view and brainstorm outside, at the proposed location, and all teams came up with amazing ideas! The online group created an online viewing platform for people who prefer to watch from their home and came up with a super fun website design. FIFA would be lucky to have us host again with all the creative ideas!
