The province, Island Health, and the people of the Cowichan Valley are one step closer to seeing their new hospital completed.
In a significant milestone, the final structural beam was placed on the diagnostic and treatment centre of the region’s new hospital on May 23, 2024. This beam placement was part of a special signing ceremony to commemorate the event.
Once open, the new hospital will house 204 beds, significantly larger than the old hospital built in 1967.
