Construction is underway for the Clarington Police Complex – Phase 2 project. The $83M project has been awarded to Buttcon Limited. Construction began in April 2022 with occupancy scheduled for April 2024.
The new 19-acre site will expand the existing 17-acre Durham Regional Police Service complex. Two new buildings will be added in Phase 2. The Regional Support Centre (RSC) and Centre for Investigative Excellence (CFIE) totals nearly 17,000 sq m. Both buildings will house specialty police services that will support the entire region. The project is targeting LEED Silver with sustainable features such as ground heat exchangers, electric vehicle charging stations, and window shading devices.
Parkin and RPL Architects (in joint venture) are excited to be working with The Region of Durham, Durham Regional Police Services, and Buttcon Limited to deliver a successful project.
