Parkin recently completed an ophthalmology clinic at The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) to ‘improve’ the existing layout, using existing clinic boundaries and code compliant solutions. The new clinical design addresses the client’s needs for identical clinical rooms―following the latest trends of triangular shaped rooms ―in order to allow for improved Barrier free access, patient safety, and parental visibility and views. The space also provides collaborative and confidential work space for the staff.
Parkin’s design addresses various trends and maximizes patient distraction with a fun waiting space and fixation distraction devices in each exam room, each collaboratively designed and implemented with CHEO staff.
