Robert Boraks, a Parkin Director, was recently quoted by the Canadian Architect journal in an editorial titled “Reforming Justice Architecture”. Robert refers to Parkin’s Rankin Inlet Healing Facility as a progressive model aiming to create an environment that gives dignity to inmates and staff. The facility is seen by the locals as a healing centre, not a jail. The editorial mentions that facilities can be constructed to honour community offenders and victims alike.
