The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, recently marked the beginning of construction for the new acute care hospital in Corner Brook.
Excavation is scheduled to begin in early September followed by the pouring of concrete foundations beginning in early October.
The new seven-storey, 600,000 square-foot hospital will be connected to the 145-bed long-term care home. The new facility will have 164 beds, as well as an expanded cancer care program, including radiation services.
Prior to the ground-breaking, the Corner Book Health Partnership team achieved financial close on the public-private partnership to design, build, finance and maintain the new facility.
