The province of Nova Scotia has officially announced that the Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre project has been awarded to EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare (EDIH) to design, build, finance, and maintain.
Parkin is proud to be a part of the winning team. EDIH comprises industry-leading firms including EllisDon Capital (Developer and Equity Investor), EllisDon Corporation (Design/Builder), Parkin Architects Limited/Fowler Bauld & Mitchell (Architects), and EllisDon Facilities Services (Service Provider).
The project involves new construction of a 134,000 SF outpatient facility and associated site works, located on a 15-acre site in the Bayers Lake Business Park, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The new facility will have space for primary care services to be delivered by a healthcare team such as doctors, nurses and other health professionals. It will also include: clinics such as physio and occupational therapy, high blood pressure, diabetes and orthopedic assessment; 17 examination rooms; 24 dialysis stations, diagnostic imaging (x-rays and ultrasounds), and accommodation for blood collection, post-surgery or post-treatment follow-up appointments.
The first P3 healthcare project in Nova Scotia, the development is one element of the broader QEII New Generation Project, a large-scale, phased, multi-year program that will redesign and build healthcare infrastructure in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
