Architectural Blog Series: Eli Lilly Canada Inc., Laboratory Addition and Expansion

Welcome back to our Architectural Blog Series. This week we’re discussing a three-story project completed by our team at Eli Lilly Canada Inc., in Scarborough, Ontario.

About Eli Lilly Canada Inc., Laboratory Addition and Expansion

To accommodate the research and development and executive training centre, an entire floor of the building was dedicated to a new analytical lab and medical division offices. The high-tech auditorium/conference centre, designed to accommodate approximately 150 people, shares the lower level with breakout meeting rooms and a six-station mass spectrometer facility. Visually, the exterior of the new building harmonizes with the existing four-building campus, thanks to its use of complementary red brick and black glass facade.

Project Details

  • Project scope: redevelopment
  • Size: 60,000 SF
  • Construction cost: $9.3M
  • Completion Date: 1995
