Parkin in association with Kasian is the design component of EllisDon Infrastructure, which has been named as the preferred proponent for the new Royal Inland Hospital Patient Care Tower in Kamloops, BC.
Scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2024, the project will be implemented in two sequential phases. Phase one includes design and construction of the tower, featuring single-patient rooms, and built to achieve LEED Gold certification. Phase two comprises renovations and expansion of the emergency department, post-anesthetic recovery, pediatrics and the morgue.
Interior Health Board chair Doug Cochrane is quoted as stating that this project will help to modernize Royal Inland Hospital and improve patient care for residents of the entire region.
