Parkin’s Grandview Kids – The Jerry Coughlan Building has received a 2026 ARIDO Award in the CARE+ category, recognizing interior design that supports children, families and care teams through thoughtful, inclusive and purposeful design.
One of Ontario’s most respected interior design honours, the ARIDO Awards celebrate the creativity, innovation and impact of Registered Interior Designers across the province. This year, 67 submissions across 12 categories were reviewed anonymously by a five-member judging panel, with just 18 projects receiving awards.
Special congratulations to Rosalynn Carito, ARIDO, whose interior design leadership helped shape Grandview Kids into a welcoming, accessible and empowering environment for children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs. We also recognize Lynne Wilson Orr and the Architectural team, whose close collaboration with the Interior Design team helped bring this vision to life.
At the heart of the project is an interior environment designed around the people who use it. Vibrant, intuitive spaces support navigation and independence, while thoughtfully designed treatment, learning, gathering and family spaces create opportunities for comfort, confidence, connection and belonging.
The result balances the complex requirements of a children’s treatment centre with something equally important: a bright and optimistic environment where children and youth can feel supported, capable and inspired by possibility.
