We’re excited to share that Parkin is part of the New Avalon Corrections Partners team delivering the Adult Corrections Facility Replacement project in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
This 21,000 m2 facility, located in St. John’s east end, will replace Her Majesty’s Penitentiary (HMP) and provide more than double the existing capacity.
Guided by best practices in modern facility planning, the new building will expand space for programming and recreation and strengthen access to mental health supports.
A modern correctional facility can make better use of technology to enhance safety and support policies and programs focused on rehabilitation—helping people in custody build skills, prepare for reintegration, and reduce reoffending.
