Following completion of the Advanced Medical Research Centre feasibility study for uOttawa, Parkin is finalizing a connected follow-up study of the university’s Roger Guindon Hall. The purpose of the studies was to identify opportunities and challenges associated with the expansion of medical laboratory capacity, and to explore how the Ottawa Health Sciences Centre and regional partners could participate in the process. As part of the analysis, Parkin led several successful visioning and stakeholder engagement sessions with both uOttawa and OHSC partners.
To facilitate our mentorship program, we involve our staff and interns with a hands-on approach in every step of the design process. We are privileged to have worked with a great group of talented people.
The following testimonial attests to our Vision/Mission/Values.
During my internship at Parkin, I had the opportunity to participate in multiple projects, primarily the Feasibility Study for a combined renovation and new build project for the University of Ottawa. I was frequently invited to actively participate in team discussions and client meetings, to assist with the development of design and phasing strategies, and to directly contribute to the study itself by creating graphics and written material for the final submission. Thanks to the welcoming and supportive team environment at Parkin, I was able to learn a significant amount during my short time at the office. Having interned at other firms in the past, my experience at Parkin was by far the best in terms of the variety and calibre of work with which I was tasked, the real-world skills I developed, and the relationships I fostered with my team members and the office at large. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Parkin and I would highly recommend this experience to any student looking for a fulfilling and enriching internship opportunity. – Ambra Del Frate
