Renovations
The scope of the project encompasses interior renovations to an existing 3 storey combined laboratory and office use building to accommodate new lab spaces and associated offices. There is also a substantial upgrade to the mechanical base building and internal HVAC systems. The Edmonton Police Service will move their forensic division into a portion of this building as part of the upgrades. The main components of the work delivered sequentially in phases will comprise:
- New entrance and reception desk
- New Case Receiving Unit (CRU)
- Forensic Identification Unit
- Major DNA Biology Lab
- Evidence Recovery Unit (ERU) Labs
- Trace Evidence section
- Administrative offices
- Library
- Mobile storage
- Toxicology Unit
- Edmonton Police Services Lab and Office
