New Facility
The new 43-bed critical care area consists of 14 intensive care beds,
14 coronary care beds, six step-down beds and a nine-bed cardiovascular
intensive care unit (CVICU). Two cardiovascular operating rooms are
located directly adjacent to the CVICU.

New Facility
As the largest community hospital in Canada, Trillium Health Centre's
emergency department was designed to accommodate up to 100,000 patient
visits per year. The department consists of 43 stretcher spots and a
six-stretcher trauma resuscitation area, as well as separate tracks
for minor treatment and paediatrics.

New Facility
The Family Care Centre was an initiative on the part of the Trillium
Health Centre to create a family-focused outpatient clinic environment.
Programs include a paediatric fast-track clinic, diabetic and asthma
clinics, pre- and post-natal clinics and a health resource and teaching
centre. Parkin was recognized for this project with a Gold Medal from
the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO).
