Parkin is pleased to be once again working with EllisDon, this time on Phase Two of the Royal Columbian Hospital design/build project. The development comprises a new acute care tower with new beds for intensive care, cardiac intensive care, medical and surgical patients. Also included are a new emergency department, medical imaging unit, 25 operating rooms, two radiology suites, an additional CT scanner, maternity operating rooms, a new entrance, a 350-car underground garage, and a rooftop helipad.
In Phase 3, Parkin and EllisDon will upgrade and expand areas in the existing Health Care Centre and Columbia Tower. The renovation will expand support service areas including laboratory, pharmacy, food services, diagnostic services, and medical imaging.
