This RVH project brings advanced cardiac care to the citizens of Simcoe Muskoka. The hospital has just opened a new Cardiac Care Interventional Suite (“CCIS”), constructed within existing shelled space. Parkin provided full architectural services for design, planning and construction of a top-grade, two-room cardiac catheterization suite with 18 pre/post care bays and a full range of support. This new program extends the breadth of cardiac care at RVH, complementing both the emergency service and the existing Cardiac Care Unit, to which the CCIS is adjacent. While not offering angioplasty at this time, the physical arrangement allows for provision of that service at a later date. The radiology equipment—the first of its kind certified for use in Canada—was provided by Siemens Canada. We are pleased to have been a part of this significant contribution to patient care in Central Ontario.
