Qikiqtani General Hospital Servicing the needs of Baffin Region

Qikiqtani General Hospital now serves all emergent and inpatient needs of Baffin Region, from two interrelated buildings on the site. After the opening of a replacement hospital on the site, Parkin was retained to convert the existing  Baffin Regional Hospital building to a new ambulatory care facility that provides primary care to the people of Nunavut. The two buildings share BRH’s plant operation, administration and dietary services. The renovated building creates new and improved ambulatory care and specialty clinics, as well as an increased number of exam and minor procedure rooms, within a new model of care providing multipurpose functionality.  For photos click here:  http://www.parkin.ca/projects/qikiqtani-general-hospital/

The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre’s New Brain Imaging Centre

Parkin Architects Limited designed the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre’s new Brain Imaging Centre, which opened in the spring of 2016. Its new PET-MRI technology is the first of its kind in Canada dedicated to mental health research.  The PET-MRI gives the Centre’s researchers a window into the brain, enabling them to take mental health research to the next level, and allowing them to develop new, personalized treatments to improve individual patient progress.  For photos click here:  http://www.parkin.ca/projects/royal-ottawa-mental-health-centre-brain-imaging-centre/
