Parkin as part of the consultant team for Edmonton Zone project (2030 Regional Plan for 18 acute care facilities) has been selected to present at the 2nd European Healthcare Design 2016 (EHD 2016) Congress & Exhibition at the Royal College of Physicians in London from 27-28th June, 2016.
The topic of the Team’s presentation will be “The 2030 Plan: Processes and Tools for System-Wide Health Service, Infrastructure and Master Planning.
Parkin’s design build project with Stuart Olson Inc., the Polson Tower Expansion at Vernon Jubilee Hospital is featured in AWARD Magazine. Two of its seven floors have been newly fitted out. The feature speaks to how patients and their families can now enjoy enhanced privacy. Privacy and comfort encourage families to participate in patient care.

The progress of Joseph Brant Hospital has reached a milestone with the topmost level of concrete having been poured. Next stages include completion of exterior cladding, interior finishes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Construction continues to progress with the firing range steel structure complete. Air handling units for the main penthouse have arrived on site and will be hoisted into place as the steel erection progresses.
The balance of steel framing for the mechanical areas, back of house spaces and the Classroom wing will follow.
Construction is on-going with the basement columns and walls poured. Forming of the level 1 slab is underway and the first pour is expected this week. Foundation work for the firing range is complete and walls have been damproofed and backfilled.
The waterproofing membrane is being applied to the basement walls of the tower and underground services are generally complete with the slab on grade pours are expected soon. Cut and fill areas around the site are now complete and water main work is expected to commence shortly.
